Youth ages 6-11 are encouraged to join us on the 1st Saturday of the month in experiencing Soil Born Farms as you explore, investigate, taste, make and garden. Each Saturday has a unique focus that will offer students new learning experiences, opportunities to make new friends and a chance for them to connect with the outdoor world.
This immersive outdoor experience will explore the lifecycle of mushrooms, revealing how they grow, reproduce, and contribute to the ecosystem. Learn about medicinal mushrooms and the powerful active compounds they contain, which have been used in traditional healing practices for centuries. We’ll discuss local mushroom identification, helping you recognize species in the American River area.
