Soil Born Farms believes that high quality local produce should be affordable to all members of our community. Vegetables from our fields get to consumers through local markets and restaurants, local food banks, seasonal neighborhood farm stands, and a weekly or biweekly produce box program that families subscribe to Community Supported Agriculture or CSA.
Hand-crafted farm products are available from other local growers. Pastries from Magpie Cafe, fair-trade Equal Exchange coffee and other beverages are for sale every Saturday. Visitors sit and chat with new and old friends, meet the farmers who grew their food and wander the fields of the American River Ranch enjoying the rural setting. The Farmstand is an important direct marketing training component of our Apprenticeship and Jr. Interns programs. Check our calendar to see the educational community activities that are also taking place at the Farmstand each week! The Farmstand is open every Saturday through November 15, 2018. Note: The Farmstand will be closed on Saturday, September 15 for our 16th Annual Autumn Equinox Celebration.
Everyone is encouraged to bike or walk to the ranch and bring a shopping bag. Use your food dollars to vote for healthy food, healthy families and healthy land. Every dollar spent at the Farmstand supports the work of Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture & Education Project.
Frequent Shopper discounts: Earn a stamp on your Farmstand Frequent Shopper card for every $5 you spend, and get $5 off on fruits and vegetatbles when you fill up your card! Enter your completed card to win prizes.
Cash, credit cards, checks and EBT (food stamps) accepted.
Soil Born Farms’ community supported agriculture (CSA) program is a partnership between our non profit urban farms and a community of supporters. Twice a year CSA members purchase a “farm share” which helps us cover the costs of growing. In return, Soil Born Farms provides CSA members with an abundance of fresh from the field, nutrient-rich, organically grown produce each week during the season.
