Discover how to assess what nutrients and amendments our soils need and find resourceful ways to create a flourishing home garden. The class includes hands-on activities.

Explore the world of trees, leaves, acorns and the other gifts trees give us! Kids will get a chance to make acorn flour, taste acorn bread and make their own fresh, hand-shaken herb butter. We’ll get crafty with leaves and seeds while learning about local trees and the important role they play on our landscape. Youth will have a chance to try seasonal fruits and vegetables, explore the farm and meet the animals. Suggested ages 3-9. This is a child-focused farm experience. Registration is for children only, one adult may accompany each child.

Learn how to make dough, easy and quick sauces, pair vegetables, greens and healthy ways to finish a pizza. Class culminates in baking our pizza in our wood-fired oven.

This workshop series is intended for beginning farmers and ranchers in the first few years of production. Thea Rittenhouse, along with other sustainable agriculture experts, will address farm business and marketing plans, logistics and legalities of starting a farm business, finding land, and record keeping essentials. Students will finish the series with a draft business plan and a greater understanding of the business skills necessary for a successful farm.
