Ready for a farm adventure? Youth ages 6-11 are encouraged to join us on the 1st Saturday of the month in experiencing Soil Born Farms as you explore, investigate, taste, make and garden. Each Saturday has a unique focus that will offer students new learning experiences, opportunities to make new friends and a chance for them to connect with the outdoor world.
Parents are encouraged to enjoy a relaxing morning on the farm, listen to live music, meet friends for coffee at Phoebe’s, take a walk or class, shop for produce and plants or drop off their kids and have three hours to themselves on Saturday morning. This can be a good option for siblings, play dates or scout troops. This three hour experience requires pre-registration and parents must sign a waiver.
Basket Weaving
Saturday, April 4, 9am-12pm
Come join us at the farm as we learn about basket weaving. Students will learn simple weaving techniques using natural materials to make a small scale basket. We will of course have time for storytelling, singing and game playing.
Berries…Berries…Whose Got the Berries?
Saturday, May 2, 9am-12pm
Why did the berry turn on the music? Because it wanted to jam! Let’s meet in the Youth Garden to learn about the best way to care for the berries we have on the farm and how to grow these yummy treats! Students will also make a fun little 3d strawberry and a berry to propagate at home.
Let’s Meet the Sheep!
Saturday, June 6, 9am-12pm
Soil Born Farms welcomes our first livestock back on the farm. Join us for this meet and greet with our new Dorper sheep flock. Learn all about how we care for these special animals and how they will help benefit the farm. Students will also create two art pieces based on our sheep friends.
