Join Candis and her team in learning the basics of Western Herbology while integrating it with Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine. This six-month course will include medicine-making, plant ID, how to treat acute ailments, use of tonic herbs and food for strengthening vitality, as well as how to harvest local herbs for medicine. You will learn about your own constitutional needs and ways to balance yourself for better health and well-being. This program will include herb walks around the farm and the American River. There will be lots of tasting, smelling, and hands-on experience with the herbs!

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be overwhelming and sure doesn’t have to taste like dirt and twigs. Join us each month for useful, wellness-boosting information; a cooking demo of stupid-easy, madly tasty, secretly healthy, plant-centric dishes; and a garden-foods goodie bag to take home. Leafy greens don’t have to be something you eat just because mom says they’re good for you. From baby bok choy to mizuna, the variety of tastes and textures are endless. We will sample different greens, learn about the benefits of leafy veggies, and try a couple of delicious recipes.

Chef Dio will show you how to make Moroccan Vegetable Stew with couscous, Indian Chicken Curry with potatoes and peas, turkey black bean chili and Southern Style Gumbo with rice.
