Tomato, Melon and Cucumber salad


3 large heirloom tomatoes, cut into chunks
1/2 small or medium melon, cut into chunks
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup)
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground pepper
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, sliced


  1. Gently toss tomatoes, melon, cucumber, and onion together in a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Combine vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Pour vinaigrette over the chopped veggies and melon and toss to combine.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for several hours to let the flavors meld.
  5. Sprinkle with basil and serve.
