Sesame Ginger Shishito Peppers

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 basket shishito peppers
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 lime, juiced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

Directions:

  1. Dry toast the sesame seeds in a cast iron skillet or sauté pan over medium high heat until golden. Watch closely they can burn quickly. Set aside.
  2. In the small skillet turn heat down to medium and add the olive oil. Add the peppers and sauté for 3 minutes.
  3. Whisk the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Pour the sauce over the peppers and continue to cook for another 8 to 10 minutes or until peppers soften and the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
  4. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the peppers and serve.
