Roasted Broccoli with Orange & Toasted Almonds


1 pound broccoli
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon orange zest
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
2 tablespoons almonds, toasted and chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Trim the broccoli and cut it into florets. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli with the oil. Transfer to a rimmed baking sheet and season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Roast until the broccoli is just tender and begins to brown, about 25 minutes.
  3. Transfer the broccoli to a serving dish and drizzle with the orange juice. Sprinkle with the orange zest and almonds and serve immediately.
