Toppings of your choice: chopped nuts, coconut flakes, toffee pieces, ect.
Directions:
Place the caramel candies in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and add 1 tablespoon of water. Stir frequently until candy is completely melted, but watch closely not to burn.
While the caramel is melting, remove the apple stem and insert a popsicle or candy apple stick about 3/4 down into the apple. Place your toppings on shallow plates.
Once caramel is melted, remove your pan from heat and work quickly to coat your apples. Hold the handle of the pot and tilt so the caramel pools on one side. When you get down to the very bottom of the pot, use a spoon to coat your apple.
As soon as you finish coating each apple with caramel, dip them directly in your toppings.
Once all your apples are coated, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate them until caramel is set, at least 30 minutes.
