Braised Turnips

Ingredients:

turnips
butter or margarine
poppy seeds
red wine vinegar
paprika
honey

Directions:

  1. Clean, peel, and half or quarter turnips.
  2. In a large pan heat 2-3 tablespoons of butter or margarine with 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Add turnips and 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds (or sesame or another small seed) and sauté until golden brown, about 7-9 minutes.
  4. Toss in about 1 tablespoon paprika.
  5. Add 3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar and cook until evaporated, about 3-5 minutes.
