Basic Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

Oil
Garlic
Onion
Celery
Carrots
Herbs
Stock (chicken or veggie)
Greens
Other veggies
Rice, barley or potatoes
Optional: Meat

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in the bottom of pot, add garlic, onion, celery, carrots, and other aromatics.
  2. Sautee for a bit, then salt, pepper, and grain or potatotes, sautee a bit more, then add stock.
  3. Also throw in herbs that you like. Try parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme (seriously, it’s delicious). Oregano works well too, as well as bay.
  4. Add water as needed to cook grain and get the amount of liquid you want, then add greens and cooked precooked meat near the end of cooking time.

Enjoy with garlic bread.
