Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Flying Feathered Friends

Come discover our flying feathered friends. Students will learn how to work as a team by playing our Hawk versus Squirrel game. We’ll identify different important birds on the farm, build our own binoculars and go for a bird hunt.  We’ll wrap up by building bird feeders and meeting the farm’s chickens.

Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Plant Part Fun

Take a trip with us to the greenhouse where we’ll practice our early math skills by learning about the six plant parts. Students will make their own mini-greenhouses, learn the Plant Parts song, and hunt for, harvest and taste plants throughout the garden. We’ll end our day with a game and art project that will help the Lil Sprouts connect to the plants in our world.

Saturday, March 8, 9-10:30 am
Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Wonderful Water

Learn about the importance of water for all living things by creating a water cycle with felt. We’ll work on executive function and team-building skills by playing the Water Movers game. Lil Sprouts will construct a water gauge to take home, learn the, “We Come From the Water,” song and have fun watering the plants in the garden.

Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Spectacular Seeds

Seeds are so important! Students will sort, observe and examine all different types of seeds. We will build student’s fine motor skills by creating mosaic frames with seeds and making seed tapes to grow veggies at home. Finally we will sing, “The Farmer Plants the Seed,” song. Come discover nature’s packets of power!

Saturday, April 12, 9-10:30 am
Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Planting Party

Your child will become an awesome gardener by learning how to use garden tools, weed, transplant, and seed beans in our tunnel. We’ll sing “Dirt Made My Lunch,” make veggie stamps from garden produce and create nature looms. A refreshing drink will finish the day with water infused from herbs we will harvest in the garden.

Saturday, April 26, 9-10:30 am
Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Cooking a Compost Cake

Learn and sing the Compost Cake song while we dig through the compost bins, discover the needed ingredients and search for decomposers, like worms, and “Rolly Pollies”. Students will learn to be “Agents of Compost” as they learn the FBI (fungus, bacteria and invertebrates) song and help sift our compost.

Saturday, May 10, 9-10:30 am
Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Fabulous Flower Fun

Join us to learn about the fabulous world of flowers. Learn why flowers have scents and colors, then make your own paper-mache art. Taste edible flowers grown on the farm and create your own scent tubes by harvesting leaves from our herb garden.

Li’l Sprouts in the Garden: Finding Colors in Nature

Explore the garden with us in search of the colors in nature! Make your own natural prints using plants and flowers.
