Campers entering grades 4 to 6 will enjoy the bounty of this land by harvesting, cooking and eating healthy and delicious food inspired by the seasonal produce of our fields. Participants will learn the basics of nutrition, various cooking techniques, knife skills and kitchen safety, explore the farm and meet new friends over shared meals.

Campers entering grades 1 to 3 will explore, play, sing, create and learn at the American River Ranch, along Cordova Creek and at the beautiful American River. Be prepared to hike to different areas along the parkway and discover how our farm and the local waterways work together to sustain dynamic ecosystems.

Campers ages 4-5 can meet the chickens, dig in the dirt, smell herbs and taste fresh fruits and vegetables. Using stories, songs, crafts, and games, our youngest campers will learn about our farm while enjoying playful, fun-filled mornings.

This introductory class will cover simple herbal remedies you can make at home, and when and how to use them. We will discuss herbal teas, tinctures, oils, salves, and herbal foods. Participants will get recipes to make their own herbal products at home.
