Take a leisurely tour of Elderberry Farms Native Plant Nursery which grows about 120 different local native plant species. Learn about the benefits of growing native plants and their adaptability to limited water resources and climate change.
The Herb Walk is cancelled due to low-enrollment. Join Daylin Wade for a fascinating herb walk on the farm and the American River Parkway. We will identify and discuss more than 25 edible and medicinal plants during this easy walk.
Free classes, talks and tours. Learn how to grow vibrant, tasty, and healthy plants from Soil Born Farm’s knowledgeable staff and community educators. This is a rain or shine event. Registration will occur at the event ONLY and be on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit our Greenhouse and Garden Shop to fill your garden with vegetable starts, edible perennials, medicinal and culinary herbs, succulents and fruit trees which will provide food and beauty through the spring and summer.
Session2. Campers entering grades 1 to 3 will spend four days exploring seeds, preparing garden beds, planting and harvesting produce, learning about environmental stewardship and discovering what plants need to grow healthy and strong.
Learn about the parts and pieces of drip irrigation while helping to build and/or repair a system in the growing spaces at Soil Born.
Help build our herb spiral, while learning about the needs of various herbs and how this structure can conserve water and create a variety of growing environments.
