This one-day intensive for school garden educators will help you consider the best design for your space that will serve students and teachers while creating a dynamic and healthy ecosystem. Learn the nuts and bolts of irrigation, plant selection, needed materials, signage ideas, curriculum resources and more. Come prepared to collaborate and create.

This class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Check out School Garden Games, Recipes, Signage and Education Tools class which is on Tuesday, August 20 – Wednesday, August 21. Practice 4 NGSS aligned units that can be used in partnership with a school garden or outdoor learning space. You will practice activities, prepare the materials, learn games, and be challenged to use your critical thinking in the process.

You will work on plans that relate to curriculum, planting, and funding. It will be fun and engaging while setting you and your school garden program on the path to success and sustainability.

Attract pollinators of all types to your garden through planning and stewardship. Teach students about the process of pollination and the unique creatures that are critical to our food supply. Learn about a student-led project that relates to native bees. You will leave this workshop BUZZING with excitement. Join us for happy hour and networking after the workshop.

This hands-on training will include: Needed materials and approvals, curriculum examples, basics of gardening with children, creating and communicating your vision, funding ideas and much more. Gardens offer beautiful, dynamic settings to integrate every discipline, including science, math, reading, art, environmental studies and nutrition.
Note: Registration for the August 27-31 is for interns and/or school teachers.
