In this class, adults will learn how to teach children that the garden is a safe and welcoming place where they can leave their stress behind. You will learn to teach resiliency skills, stress management skills, and self-soothing techniques that empower children and help them express themselves. You will leave with practical ideas that can help children ages 4 through 17. Recommended for parents, care providers and teachers (adults only). No art or garden experience is necessary.
This is a hands-on workshop that will help you manage and facilitate your garden space well. You will learn to use the produce in your garden, create signage, play educational games and facilitate engaging activities. Come in your work clothes.

Practice 4 NGSS aligned units that can be used in partnership with a school garden or outdoor learning space. You will practice activities, prepare the materials, learn games, and be challenged to use your critical thinking in the process.

You will work on plans that relate to curriculum, planting, and funding. It will be fun and engaging while setting you and your school garden program on the path to success and sustainability.
