Want to get the whole family involved in gardening? In this hands-on class, you and your family members will work together and learn how to plant seeds. You will practice preparing a garden bed and amending the soil.
Participants will explore, create, learn, sing and enjoy the outdoors. Designed for ages 7 to 11. Each themed class will be unique and can be enjoyed as individual classes or taken as a series.
Kids will explore the Youth Garden and the American River Ranch learning about seeds, what they are made of, how to grow and care for them and why they are important. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in various fun, educational activities, make a farm fresh snack, meet the farm animals and create something to take home. Suggested ages 3-9. This is a child-focused farm experience. Registration is for children only, one adult may accompany each child.

Explore the world of trees, leaves, acorns and the other gifts trees give us! Kids will get a chance to make acorn flour, taste acorn bread and make their own fresh, hand-shaken herb butter. We’ll get crafty with leaves and seeds while learning about local trees and the important role they play on our landscape.
