Eco Warriors is a club for youth ages 12-15 who want to build leadership skills, foster meaningful friendships and become changemakers. Our Youth Educator Nolan leads a series of hands-on experiences for young teens on Saturday mornings. Come cook a recipe with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. We’ll talk about food choices, environmental impacts and reducing food waste. Imagine this… you can cook, eat and help the environment all at the same time.

Eco Warriors: Guerrilla Gardening
In this class, students will explore the farm and creekside as they plant native seeds in creative ways. We’ll learn how to make seed balls and fun salt and pepper seed shakers. This is your chance to be a sneaky gardener for good!

Eco Warriors: Farm Culture Theater
This theatrical activity will introduce students to various farming practices used around the world while exercising creativity. While creating a skit in small groups, students will contemplate the varied impacts of farming on land and culture.

Eco Warriors: Cookin’ Quesadillas with Solar Ovens
In this class, students will build solar ovens and make delicious quesadillas with optional summer veggies. Use your engineering skills to build an oven you think will work best.
